Maria Venus Raj-Miss Universe 2010
Camar ines Sur native Maria Venus Raj bested 23 other contestants in this year's Binibining Pilipinas pageant, which had its coronation night last March 6 at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City. She is this year's reigning Bb. Pilipinas Universe, who will represent the country in the prestigious Miss Universe beauty pageant This coming September. Due to inconsistencies on her birth certificate. Maria Venus Raj will not represent the country for the miss universe 2010.
She was dethroned from the title “Miss Universe” because we found inconsistencies in their statements. Both Venus and her mother said she was born in Doha, Qatar, while yung na-submit nilang legal documents say she was born in the Philippines,"said Marcial.

"Today March 29, 2010, Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc. decided, with a heavy heart, to let Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2010 Maria Venus Raj go, after the organization discovered inconsistencies contained in her birth records, in contrast to her personal account of her birth."
Due to this incident the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe ang First Runner-up na si Diane Elaine Samar Necio or the Second Runner-up Helen Nicolette Mercado Henson will be representing the Pageant.
It should be Venus to represent the Philippines for the 59th Miss Universe Pageant this August or september.
