Drift Cars, Drift Bikes, Drift Motorcycle, Drift RC. Started at the Mid-60's. The Drifting sports pioneered by the Japanese. What is Drifting? According to our knowledgeable WIKIPEDIA.
Drifting is a driving technique where the driver intentionally oversteers, causing loss of traction in the rear wheels, while maintaining control from entry to exit of a corner. A car is drifting when the rear slip angle is greater than the front slip angle, to such an extent that often the front wheels are pointing in the opposite direction to the turn (e.g. car is turning left, wheels are pointed right or vice versa).
What about Trike? A trike is a 3 Wheeled car.
I don't know if this originated from NZ but according to history it was. We'll I don't care who started it but what I love is somebody does it and it's really amazing drifting with this bike. So to start with the project. Here are some photos of my Axle's being machined at the shop. This is the final product. The chrome plate is where the Wheels goes in. While the Round bar is where it was mounted inside a shaft. Later below you will see where it was mounted.
The size varies on whiche wheels you are going to use. In our end we decided to use a pneumatic tire so we can have it fitted as exactly as the PVC wheel.
Above putting up the two pieces together. Welding at the bottom side for secured drifting.
The shaft will be tack inside the Pipe. A hairline measurement was use for firm and stability purpose.
And here is the Last piece. Welding together inside a Tube Pipe.
This was done last saturday. I go back to the shop today to check if everything went well. The Good news is that they were'nt able to finish it. and the bad news the parts above are missing. Somebody stole it and we can't find it anymore. So I'm back from scratch. Everything was back to zero. I don't have a Shock shaft anymore that I can use as a shaft. I have to buy a Tensile Bolt which will cost me 280 for a two pair. What! I bought the Bike for PHP 400 and the 280 for just a Bolt. Hmmm I might try looking at the junk shop in case. Wheeew.. I find the shocks shaft very sturdy and more elegant to look. hayz.. poor me I won't be able to start drifting this saturday.
Things that I need:
PVC
Molding Fiberglass incase there are no PVC available.
Brake assy
Wheels
I just borrow the wheels from a friend co blogger Geri of Websaytko.com. I'm still looking for some other possible wheels....
Thanks for dropping. Incase you want to join our drifting trail send a comment here or email me.
